On 9th Sept 2025 (Tuesday), somewhere between 11:30am–1:00pm, light a candle in the South sector of your home and let it burn out safely. This simple act awakens Star 8 energy, not instant wealth, but productivity, grit, and focus.

Supportive forces include Auspicious Army (team spirit), Happy Spirit (confidence), Three Harmony with Ox (friendships), and Heavenly Noble & Universal Protection (guidance and safety).

After the activation, share your progress and connect with others, ask for help, and spread the energy outward. The candle sparks momentum; your actions carry it further.

One reason you might want to skip this activation is if you or someone at home are born on the year of the Rat (1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020) because the South is the Horse sector, and Horse clash with Rat.

7th Sep – 7th Oct month of Wood Rooster

This month shifts into Fan Yin energy, marked by sudden reversals and unpredictable turns. Progress may feel chaotic, with stable plans quickly overturned. Success comes from agility, timing, and the ability to act swiftly, while rigidity leads to setbacks. If you can adapt and ride the turbulence, you’ll move ahead before others even realize the game has changed.

7th Sep – 7th Oct for Month of Wood Rooster

During Ghost Month, many believe spirits roam freely, but this is often confused with Feng Shui. In truth, the season marks the natural shift from Yang to Yin , unrelated to Xuan Kong Feng Shui. Ghost Month is a cultural tradition, not an omen, it’s better seen as part of heritage rather than something to fear.

Want to map this energy in your own space? 🏡
1️⃣ Print or open your property’s floor plan.
2️⃣ Place a transparent compass (Bagua/8 sectors) over it, aligning North at the top of the plan.
3️⃣ Divide into 8 directions: N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW.
4️⃣ Note which rooms fall into each sector, this shows you where the energy plays out in your home.

West | 4–6

Clarity and action matter more than endless talk. Use this energy to make concrete decisions, assign responsibilities, and cut out the non-contributors. Meetings without outcomes means wasted time.

Northwest | 3–5

Be cautious of actions with unintended consequences. This sector magnifies both success and disaster. If you light a fuse, be ready to handle the explosion. Don’t push agendas you can’t own.

North | 7–9

Truths revealed may liberate or destabilize, depending on your mindset. This energy supports uncovering hidden realities and breaking into new markets, but only if you can handle the fallout.

Northeast | 5–7

Echo chambers are dangerous here. Surround yourself with real expertise, not empty noise. This energy can spark breakthrough ideas, but mishandling it risks creating more enemies than allies.

East | 9–2

Don’t judge too quickly, what seems like sabotage may actually be protection. Patience brings clarity. Those who wait and observe gain the full truth; the impatient may feel only loss.

Southeast | 1–3

New skills take time to master. This energy is perfect for sports, creativity, and leadership execution. Sync your actions with intentions, and clumsy beginnings can turn into championship wins.

South | 6–8

Recognition is high but protect yourself from exploitation. Productivity is power only when credit and rewards flow back to you. Guard your achievements from being absorbed by others.

Southwest | 8–1

Balance capacity with demand. Like managing a dam, too much or too little flow ruins results. Use this energy to test your limits, but ensure you can guide the surge instead of being drowned by it.

The 7th Lunar Month in the Chinese calendar, often referred to as Hungry Ghost Month, marks a period when the veil between the worlds is thin. It’s a time deeply rooted in Taoist and Buddhist traditions, where the living and spirit realms momentarily intersect.

While some approach it with fear or superstition, Hungry Ghost Month actually offers profound opportunities for spiritual growth, karmic awareness, and honoring our unseen connections.

🗓️ When Is Hungry Ghost Month?

Hungry Ghost Month begins on the first day of the 7th lunar month (usually August) and peaks on the 15th day, known as the Ghost Festival.

This is believed to be the time when the Gates of the Underworld open, allowing spirits, both ancestors and wandering souls to roam the human realm.

🔥 Rituals with Deeper Meaning

Traditionally, people burn joss paper, incense, and offer food to feed and appease hungry or restless spirits. In places like Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan, elaborate Getai performances are staged with front rows left empty for “invisible guests.”

But these acts are more than folklore. They are symbolic rituals of remembrance and compassion, helping us acknowledge the neglected, the forgotten, or the unresolved both spiritually and within ourselves.

⚠️ Ghost Month Taboos (and Their Wisdom)

Cultural taboos during Ghost Month may seem rigid, but they’re often grounded in energy sensitivity:

🚫 Avoid weddings, surgeries, or new business launches

🚫 Refrain from staying out late or venturing into dark, yin-heavy places

🚫 Don’t whistle at night, hang clothes overnight, or pick up random objects

These aren’t just rules, they are reminders to respect the energy of the unseen, stay grounded, and reduce unnecessary exposure to volatile yin energy.

🧘‍♀️ A Time for Spiritual Hygiene and Karmic Awareness

Ghost Month is best viewed as a time to cleanse, reflect, and reset energetic field. You will notice those that observes this cultural event doing these things:

✅ Offer gratitude to ancestors
✅ Burn incense with intention, not fear
✅ Avoid gossip, conflict, or harsh speech
✅ Spend time in meditation, mantra chanting, or prayer
✅ Perform acts of compassion, even unseen ones

🔮 A Modern Metaphysical Perspective

For BaZi and Qi Men Dun Jia practitioners, Hungry Ghost Month is rich with insight:

It’s a period of heavy yin qi, not suitable for aggressive activations

Instead of manifesting material desires, it’s a time to clear karmic blockages

Those with strong fire or yang charts may feel depleted; those with yin-heavy charts may feel emotionally intense

It’s ideal for ancestral healing, recalibrating your luck pillars, or seeking guidance from your personal chart’s structure

Hungry Ghost Month isn’t a season of fear, it’s a mirror.

It reminds us that we live in an energetic ecosystem where actions, thoughts, and karma ripple across time and space. It asks us to be more mindful, compassionate, and spiritually aware and to honor the cycles that came before us.

Rather than hiding, use this sacred window to pause, purify, and reconnect with your ancestors, your own energy, and the spiritual flow around you.

Let the Ghost Month be a time of healing, not just for wandering spirits, but for the unseen parts of your own soul.

In Qi Men Dun Jia, the Heavenly Stems form the backbone of energy interpretation. Understanding their roles and relationships reveals the dynamic dance of power, conflict, and support that shapes a Qi Men chart.

Let’s break down the core types of stems that define the battlefield: the King, the Enemy, and the Noble Allies and how the rest interact to influence outcomes.

👑 Jia 甲 The Hidden King (Grand Marshal)

Jia represents the Wood element, symbolizing growth, vitality, and leadership. It is the main character of Qi Men Dun Jia, so much so that the name “Dun Jia” literally means “Hiding the Jia”.

In traditional military metaphysics, Jia is the General, the one being protected or hidden in strategy. It signifies:

The core objective or person of interest,

The authority figure or leader energy,

The progress and life force behind success.

Whenever Jia appears in a chart, its position and condition help you determine how strong or vulnerable the situation is. Protecting Jia is a key strategic priority.

⚔️ Geng 庚 The Main Enemy

Geng, representing the Yang Metal element, is the natural enemy of Jia Wood. In elemental theory, Metal cuts Wood — which makes Geng the symbolic opposing force, the adversary, or the obstacle.

In Qi Men:

Geng is the most dangerous stem when opposing Jia,

It brings conflict, challenges, suppression, and disruption,

When aligned with other hostile stems, it amplifies negativity and resistance.

The tension between Jia and Geng represents the classic conflict between growth and restriction, leadership and suppression, a battle found in both personal and external situations.

🤝 The Three Nobles: Yi 乙, Bing 丙, Ding 丁

These three stems are known as the Three Nobles (三奇 San Qi), powerful allies that assist and protect Jia. Each has a strategic role in overcoming Geng’s aggression:

Yi 乙 (Yin Wood): Soft, flexible, and subtle. Yi combines with Geng, diluting its harshness and transforming attack into neutrality.

Bing 丙 (Yang Fire): Bold and active, Bing counters Geng through elemental interaction (Fire melts Metal) and often represents powerful external support.

Ding 丁 (Yin Fire): Delicate but penetrating, Ding weakens Geng silently, symbolizing hidden influence or spiritual/indirect intervention.

Together, these Three Nobles offer:

Protection for Jia, especially when one or more are in favorable palaces,

Enhanced auspiciousness when used in manifestations or date selection,

The metaphor of loyal ministers supporting the king.

🌘 The Six Crescents (六仪 Liu Yi)

Xin, Ren, Gui, Wu, Ji, Geng The Remaining Stems

The other six stems are collectively known as the Six Crescents (Liu Yi) and are typically seen as less auspicious or more neutral/malefic depending on context.

Here’s how they interact:

Xin 辛 (Yin Metal): Joins Geng to double the pressure on Jia. It may represent betrayal, passive-aggressive forces, or mental fatigue.

Ren 壬 & Gui 癸 (Yang and Yin Water): These stems threaten the Fire-based Nobles (Bing and Ding), as Water extinguishes Fire. They weaken support systems and can create confusion, fear, or emotional overwhelm.

Wu 戊 & Ji 己 (Yang and Yin Earth): These are generally less aggressive but may absorb or block energy. Wu can trap or weigh down progress, while Ji may conceal or distort clarity.

While not all Crescents are entirely negative, their association with resistance or stagnation means they often align with Geng’s energy in undermining the king or complicating the situation.

🔍 Why It Matters: Reading Stem Relationships in Practice

Understanding the roles of Heavenly Stems in your Qi Men chart helps you:

Recognize helpful vs harmful energy in your environment,

Choose better timings for decision-making, manifestation, or negotiations,

Adjust your personal strategy by aligning with supportive Nobles and avoiding clashing with hostile Crescents.

Whether you’re forecasting an outcome or planning an action, the Heavenly Stems act as strategic players (generals, allies, and enemies) influencing how the battlefield plays out.

Qi Men Dun Jia is a system of strategy, not superstition. And at the heart of its wisdom lies a battlefield of Heavenly Stems, each with its role in shaping destiny. By learning how to read their intentions, you begin to move through life with foresight, confidence, and power.

In Bazi (Four Pillars of Destiny), the Day Master is one of the most important element in your chart. It represents you, your core nature, personality, and how you interact with the world. Everything else in the chart (wealth, career, relationships, opportunities, challenges) is interpreted in relation to the Day Master.

Some of my readers asked me how do they use the monthly Day Master forecast which I share. If you’re new to Bazi, here’s a simple guide on how to find your Day Master in your chart.

Step 1: Generate Your Bazi Chart

To begin, you’ll need a Bazi chart calculator (many free ones are available online). Enter your date, time, and place of birth, and the tool will generate your Four Pillars: Year, Month, Day, and Hour.

Each pillar has two parts:

Heavenly Stem (top character)

Earthly Branch (bottom character)

Your Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of the Day Pillar.

Step 2: Locate the Day Pillar

Look at your Bazi chart. The third column from the left is your Day Pillar.

The top character (the Heavenly Stem) is your Day Master.

The bottom character (the Earthly Branch) represents your Day Branch (often linked to your spouse/close relationships), but for now focus on the top.

Yi (乙): Yin Wood

Bing (丙): Yang Fire

Ding (丁): Yin Fire

Wu (戊): Yang Earth

Ji (己): Yin Earth

Geng (庚): Yang Metal

Xin (辛): Yin Metal

Ren (壬): Yang Water

Gui (癸): Yin Water

Step 4: Understand What It Means

Now that you know your Day Master, you can refer to the monthly Day Master forecast and always look for your own Day Master article.
